JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — York Trivette has seen a lot of life in his 100 years, including serving in two wars.
“It’s great to be alive,” Trivette said.
The centenarian is almost as spunky as the 17-year-old Science Hill High School student who remembers the day the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.
“On Monday, the principal of Science Hill High School, where I was a junior at that time, called everyone together,” he said. “They televised President Roosevelt’s address and alerted everyone of the day of infamy as he proposed it to be, would live in our memory, which it has done.”
