KUNKLETOWN, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — 28/22 News reports on Valor Clinic Foundation's March 1st, 2026 Wilkes-Barre Stand Down. These Stand Downs help Veterans in need of basic necessities (including clothing, footwear, and non-perishable meals) and connections to supportive services; providing hot meals for the homeless and essential items to community members in need.
WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It’s a new month, but it is the same great mission in action by an organization that looks out for struggling veterans. Valor Clinic Foundation hosted what’s billed as the Wilkes-Barre Stand Down. The group holds a Stand Down event every other month for any vet who needs assistance.
Volunteers provided basic necessities like non-perishable food, clothing, and footwear. They also extended the same generosity to members of the community in need.
“The way things are going right now, everything’s very, very tough. I, I haven’t been working lately. I’m trying to job hunt, and just basic necessities are not an option right now, along with a lot of other people that are really, really struggling,” Camellia Kondratick, a Veteran from Kingston, told 28/22 News.
“I’m just grateful. I’m just grateful for these people being here, giving us this opportunity. My wife and I are struggling, and this helps us out a great deal,” Wilkes-Barre Veteran Joseph Baloga said.
Besides veterans, Valor Clinic also helped anyone else in the community at the event in Wilkes-Barre.
