Valor Homebound Veterans Food Program provides free services

Are you a veteran or a spouse of a veteran? Perhaps you are homebound and in need of food assistance? If the answer to either of those is yes, then the VALOR Homebound Veterans Food program can help.

The organization provides free food deliveries and services in Carbon, Monroe, Northampton, Lehigh, Pike and Luzerne counties.

Kevin Cope, manager, Community Outreach & Volunteers, said the Homebound Veterans Food Program was started a little over a year ago.

"We want to get the word out to any veterans or families who may not be aware that it's out there," Cope said. "Its very similar to going to a food pantry, but we're actually bringing the food to them."

Cope added the program "is a good way that VALOR Clinic can really connect with a veteran's family to see if we can assist, or if there are any other services we can offer them," he said.
