Austin Community College added a space to its Highland campus that is dedicated to helping veterans and their families adjust to life after the military.
ACC Highland opened the new Military Network on Wednesday and held a ribbon-cutting celebration.
The space will house the ACC Veterans Resource Center (VRC) and the recently established Military Families Center, according to ACC.
ACC said the Military Network is a “response to the distinctive needs of military and veteran families in Central Texas, where there has been a notable increase in military members and veterans.” It aims to “fill this gap of the lack of essential resources, systems, and community support in Central Texas,” ACC said in a release.
